Functionality Updates
I added quick "why" buttons to Follow Ups, so a reminder can be closed as "Already confirmed" or "Already requested" in one tap. Repeat no-shows now automatically get their own message.
What we’re building, what’s next, and what just shipped.
I added quick "why" buttons to Follow Ups, so a reminder can be closed as "Already confirmed" or "Already requested" in one tap. Repeat no-shows now automatically get their own message.
I added Team Forms! Managers can build simple forms, like "change my employee discount" or "fix my time clock punch", and choose which team gets them. When someone sends one, that team gets pinged and it shows up in their team space until someone marks it done, and the sender gets a heads-up when it's handled.
I've refreshed the Dashboard, now called 2.0. If your clinic prefers the original dashboard, 1.0 is an option chosen in clinic admin settings, but will not be updated further (based on current plans). You can find your tools fast, jump straight into your team spaces or your own space, catch up on the Clinic Feed, and join in on Tug of War and Kudos. Team to-do lists now live in each team's space, and your tool cards only light up when something is actually waiting for you.
Clinic Settings got a big tidy-up. Most changes now save the moment you make them, with an Undo if you slip, and busy tools like Hospital, Chores and Training have a handful of clear tabs instead of a long row. The bigger tools get a quick checkup that flags anything not set up yet. Clinic Admins can also now choose the tools everyone sees pinned on the new clinic home.
Tug of War has four new games (pick one, hot takes, guess the number, and two truths and a lie), plus a dice button that deals a ready-made game when you're out of ideas. Tug of War now has a lil rope.
Made it a little bit less roomy in the chat area, moved emoji pickers for quick reactions to be in a better spot.
I tightened up Follow Ups so you can see far more cases at once: each visit is a single line with the patient, owner, visit, provider and due date side by side. When you open a case you get just what you need up top, with contact details a click away, and notes now send when you press Enter. There's more cross-tool functionality with record requesting, reports, QA, and records sending tools.
I've retired Houndbook and moved houndkit's how-to guides to a public Help & how-to page at houndkit.com/help, open to everyone without signing in. It has search across every guide and a section for each tool, and you can get there from "Help & how-to" in your account menu. If your clinic does things its own way, Training & SOPs is the place to write that down.
I'm currently writing step-by-step guides for every houndkit tool. They cover setting up, everyday use, and what admins can change. They'll appear on the Help & how-to page tool by tool as they're finished.
New /reports page is the one stop shop to upload PIMS reports to inform different parts of the site, like the lab board, the schedule (if turned on for your clinic), Follow Ups (if on), QA (if on), etc. Also, allow multiple reports to inform the tools - for example, when you upload your appointment report to Follow Ups, you can now add the Flowboard report too, so every follow-up gets a one-click link to the patient's record.
On the lock screen, just start typing your name or initials to find yourself instead of scrolling through the whole team.
I added Team Forms! Managers can build simple forms, like "change my employee discount" or "fix my time clock punch", and choose which team gets them. When someone sends one, that team gets pinged and it shows up in their team space until someone marks it done, and the sender gets a heads-up when it's handled.
I gave Stock Requests a tidier, more compact look and made it searchable, including the archive, so "did we already order that?" takes less thought. Managers can now sort requests into categories like Prescriptions or Consumables, you can mark something as urgent when you're out, and there's a "Copy list" button to turn what's on screen into an order list. Upvote-style "I need this too" buttons exist, urgency indicators now exist, and links can be added in the 'add stock request' form.
I added tool previews to team spaces. Any space can now show a quick look at another tool, like labs waiting on a doctor or records ready to upload, so your team sees what's waiting without leaving their space.
I renamed Treats to Kudos to make it clearer what it's for: shouting out the teammates who make your day better. Everything works the same, and old links take you to the new page.
Records now pull vaccine, prevention and test dates straight out of the PDFs you get back. Open a records request where a clinic sent in (PDF, text) records and you'll see what was given and when it's due next, with a link to the exact page. Admins can add the names your referring clinics use under Clinic Settings → Records → Preventive Terms. It'll also (try it's best) to tag declined vaccines or if it's really not sure if it's reading it right.
I stopped a few more search and name boxes from filling in your saved email, including attachment search and the "type a name" doctor fields on Labs and Records. No more annoying refreshing. Hopefully.
I gave houndkit a big speed tune-up! The boards now load just what you're working on instead of every entry ever made, so they open way faster, especially on phones. Old entries are still there whenever you switch to Archived or search for them.
I cleaned up the header at the top of every page. Your personal quick tools (new patient, sticky note, to-do and calculator) now live together under the pen icon. Your most-used boards are grouped under the new + menu, so you can add a task, lab, 'on the way' patient or stock request from any page without losing your place. Each option uses the same icon as its tool on your dashboard, so they're easy to spot.
Clinic Settings (for clinic administrators) got a big makeover! There's a new overview of what needs your attention, a search for every setting, and all the "manage" screens from inside tools (like chores) now live in one place. You can also give teammates a temporary password when the reset email isn't working, choose who can open each tool, and download or tidy away old finished work.
User settings are now all in one place, split into four tabs: Profile · Notifications · Sign-in & security · Preferences.
Phone alerts are now live! Anything that shows in your Houndkit notification bell can also ping your phone, even when Houndkit is closed or you're logged out on desktop.
It's completely free to use. I've tested the full flow on desktop(Chrome/Safari) and iPhone iOS; Android testing is still needed but will be done soon!
Clinic Care got a big round of updates for hospitalized patient charting.
A big round of updates across learning, pharmacy, and everyday clinic tools.
Fetch:
Training
Training, SOPs, Knowledge, and Handouts are now much more connected with a full training workflow and a much nicer place to create and manage clinic content.
Schedule Updates
The scheduler got a big upgrade.
All of these features are optional and can be enabled per clinic.

Calendar Updates
A few fun and useful updates to the Calendar:
A few upgrades to make equipment tracking easier:
Team Spaces Update
Aaaaand.... you can now decorate your user dashboard!
A big update to how teams work across the site!
Groups: Create clinic-wide groups with custom names, icons, colors, members, DVM status, and customization permissions. Groups now power Tasks, Chores, Labs, and more.
Team Spaces: Every group gets a shared home base for tasks, to-dos, chat, pinned tools, saved links, photos, stickers, and custom decorations.
DVM Names: Mark groups as DVM groups to display members as Dr. LastName across supported tools, assignments, tags, notifications, and copied notes.
Groups Settings: New centralized settings for managing Groups, Team Spaces, and DVM naming.
Dashboard: Your groups now appear on your dashboard with open to-do and new-post counts.
Fridge Magnets: Team Spaces now have magnet letters (and other icon stickers)! Spell things out, customize their colors, and arrange them however you want.
I also consolidated the old Tasks, Chores, and Labs team lists into the new Groups system, so there's now one place to manage teams across the site.
♡ More little improvements and polish coming soon.
Making a roadmap where I can post my 'to-do' list for this site and all updates/fixes/changes planned and speculated :)

Happy changelog/roadmap day! This is how my brain works best and as a nosy person, I love to know how tools are going to grow and I figure there's probably a few people who use the site who may want to know too. Please always feel free to suggest, critique, or let me know how things work best for you - I am a people pleaser at heart and want to be functional and helpful for all. xoxo, kel
