Add an event

Updated September 30, 2026

Put a meeting, day off or celebration on the clinic calendar. Only a title and a date are required.

Steps

  1. Click New Event. Or click a day first, then + Add event, to start on that date.
  2. To save time, pick one under Start from a template. It fills in the title, type, icon, color, length and notes for you.
  3. Enter or adjust the Title. A preview shows how the event will look.
  4. Pick a Type, like Meeting or Holiday, if your clinic uses them.
  5. Set the Date. For something that spans several days, click Date range and set a Start and End.
  6. Under Person, pick who it's for. This is optional, and handy for PTO or birthdays.
  7. Choose an Icon and a Color if you like. Type color (or Default) uses the event type's own color.
  8. Add Notes with any details.
  9. Click Add Event.

Templates that ask for a person

Some templates, like birthdays or PTO, need to know who the event is for. The Person label says "who is this for?" until you pick someone. Once you do, their name goes into the title, for example "Sam — PTO".

If a template covers more than one day, the end date is set for you, and it moves along if you change the start date.

Tip

Don't see the template you need? Clinic admins can add their own. See Set up event types and templates.
