Set up Labs

Clinic admins can set the lab options staff pick from, the statuses labs move through, which doctors appear, and what gets copied into your PIMS.

Open Clinic Settings from your account menu, then choose Labs. Changes save as you make them. A Saved message pops up with an Undo button in case you change your mind.

Lab types

These are the lab chips staff tap when logging an entry. Staff can still type a custom lab.

1. Open the Types & statuses tab.
2. Type a name, such as CBC or Urinalysis, and click Add. Separate names with commas to add several at once.
3. Drag to reorder. Click a name to rename it, or click the trash button to remove it.

Doctors

The Ordered by (DVM) list comes from your DVM groups. Open the DVMs tab to see which groups supply it, and click Manage groups to change them. To make a group a DVM group, edit it under Groups and turn on DVM group.

Statuses

1. Open the Types & statuses tab.
2. Click Add status, enter a Name, and pick an Icon, Background and Text color.
3. Click Add status.
4. Drag statuses into order. The top one is used for every new entry, shown as New labs start as.

No statuses yet? Click Add starter statuses to add Pending, In Progress, Resulted and Complete, then edit them.

Hover over a row and click Edit (then Save) or Remove to change it.

Status column sets how the board shows status: Icon only, Icon and text or Text only.

Copy format

1. Open the Copy format tab.
2. Edit the Header. Tap a chip (Patient, Client) to drop in {patient_name} or {client_name}.
3. Under What's included, switch Lab type, Ordered by, Submitted by and Status on or off.
4. Choose How names appear, and rename the Notes heading and Activity log heading if you like.
5. Edit the Footer. Chips add {clinic_slug}, {logged_by}, {date}, {copied_by} and {copied_at}.

Text boxes save when you click away. The Preview shows a sample lab in your format. Reset copy format to default restores the original.
