What Equipment is for
Start here · step 26 of 31
Equipment keeps track of everything your team maintains, from the autoclave to the anesthesia machine, and when each job is next due. Your team logs the work, and houndkit keeps the due dates right.
Items and services
Each piece of equipment can have several services, each on its own schedule. For example, an autoclave might have a daily check, a weekly clean and an annual service. Each service has its own due date.
The Equipment page
Items that need attention are listed first. Each item shows a status badge:
- Overdue by a number of days, in red
- Due today, or Never done for a service with no history, in amber
- Due and a date when everything is up to date, in green
- No schedule when it has no services yet
Under each item you'll see its location, when it was last serviced, how many services it has, and its serial number. Tap an item to see its notes, each service with its own status, and the full service history.
A service is only flagged on or after its due date, never early.
Ways to stay on top of it
Clinic admins can also set up:
- A daily reminder to chosen people and groups, listing everything due or overdue
- An Equipment due card on a team space board, where the team can tick jobs off
- Raffle points for maintenance, shared with chores
Who does what
- Anyone on the team can log services.
- Clinic admins add equipment and services, remove equipment, delete history entries, and set up reminders and points. They see a Manage equipment link on the Equipment page.
