What Logs is for
Logs holds your clinic's running logs: the charts and spreadsheets that used to live on a clipboard, like microchip insertions, the euthanasia log, fridge temperatures or autoclave cycles. Every entry keeps who logged it and when.
One place for every log
Logs is in the Boards section of the Go to menu. It gathers three tools, each on its own tab:
- Clinic logs: the logs your clinic builds for itself
- Drug Log: your controlled substance ledger. See What the Drug Log is for.
- Team Forms: requests staff send to a team. See What Team Forms is for.
You only see the tabs for tools your clinic uses.
Clinic logs
Each log gets a card showing its name, how many rows are open or overdue, and when the last entry was made. Tap a card to open the log as a table, newest first.
A log's columns are set by your clinic. Some logs are simple lists. Others work like a checklist, with steps you tick off later and dates something is due by. For example, a euthanasia log might have Card signed and Card mailed boxes and a date the signatures are due. Those logs show Open and Done rows, and overdue dates show in red.
Nothing is ever lost
- Anyone on the team can add entries, tick boxes and mark rows done.
- Editing an entry keeps what it said before, in the entry's History.
- Entries are never deleted. A wrong entry is voided with a reason and stays on the log, crossed out.
Clinic admins build logs in Clinic Settings, from scratch or from a houndkit template. They see a Manage logs link on the Logs page.
