Set up Magic Notes for your clinic
Clinic admins set the templates everyone's notes are built from, plus clinic-wide rules and style. These settings are in Clinic Settings → Magic Notes. Staff can then fine-tune their own notes on the Customize tab.
Note Templates
A template sets the sections of a note and how the AI writes each one.
- Pick a template from the Template dropdown, or type a New template name and click Add template.
- Change the template's Name and Description right there. Each saves when you click away, with an Undo button in the Saved message. Turn on Default for new notes to make it the one new notes start with.
- Click a section to open it. Set its Name, its Format (Paragraph, Bullets, Numbered list or Checklist) and its Instructions for how it should be written. Click Save section.
- Drag sections to reorder them. Type a New section name and click Add section to add one.
Archive retires a template after you confirm, and notes already made with it keep their content. You need at least one template. Delete section also removes any personal changes staff made to that section.
Generation
Everything here saves as soon as you change it, and a Saved message with Undo appears.
- Default template: the template used when someone finishes a recording, unless they've picked their own.
- Clinic-wide rules: instructions every note follows, such as "Use metric weights only." It saves when you click away from the box.
- Keep audio after transcription: by default, recordings are deleted automatically once they're transcribed. Turn this on to keep them.
Style Examples
Paste representative past records, and generated notes will match their style for everyone at the clinic. Add a Label, and a Section name if the example is for one section only (leave it blank for a whole note). Click Add example. The content is never copied into new notes. Use the trash icon to delete an example.
Note
Staff changes on the Customize tab only affect their own notes. Your templates stay the starting point for everyone.
