Set up Tell Tail for your clinic

Clinic admins fill Tell Tail with cases, set the vital ranges it teaches, and decide whether the team sees it. Everything is in Clinic Settings → Tell Tail. You can also get there from Edit the library and Settings on the Tell Tail home page.

Add cases

1. Go to Clinic Settings → Tell Tail → Library.
2. Click Add houndkit's cases to copy in houndkit's starter library. It's yours to edit.

The library has tabs for everything cases are built from: Complaints, Hand-built cases, Conversations, Patients, Findings, Body language, Clients, Tough moments, DailyDX and Tags. Use Try it to preview what a case looks like.

The same library also shows in Training → Knowledge → Tell Tail.

Set vital ranges

On Setup, under Normal vital ranges, set the Temperature, Heart rate and Breathing rate for adult dogs, adult cats, puppies and kittens (under 4 months), and Capillary refill. Tell Tail marks each case's vitals against these. Each number saves when you click away, with Undo. Once you've set your own, Use houndkit's ranges has a Reset button (you're asked to confirm) to go back to the defaults.

Team settings

Also on Setup, under Your team (these save straight away, with Undo):

• Switch off Show Tell Tail to your team to hide it for a while. That hides its nav link, dashboard card, Training tab and plan steps, and its lessons in Fetch, from everyone but admins. Nothing is deleted.
• Team goals and milestones sets a weekly goal the whole team works toward, counting Tell Tail rounds and Fetch lessons together.

Practice is private to each person. Managers and mentors only see Tell Tail sessions you put on a role's plan, and only how many qualifying rounds someone has played.

Put practice on a training plan

In Clinic Settings → Training & SOPs → Programs → Plans by role, add a Tell Tail step: pick the mode, level, front desk or phone, number of rounds and pass mark. It ticks itself off as the trainee plays. See Set up a role's training plan.

Reports & trouble spots

When someone flags a case, it lands on Reports & trouble spots. Fix the case in the Library tab, then click Fixed it, or It's fine as is. Below that, Trouble spots, last 30 days shows complaints the team keeps missing, once at least two people have missed them.
