Use room templates
A room template is the set of chores a room needs, written once. Clinic admins can apply it to as many rooms as they like, and each room gets its own copy of the chores.
Find it in Clinic Settings > Chores > Room templates.
Why each room gets its own copy
Every room's chores are separate. Ticking off the mop in one room has nothing to do with the mop in another. Change a room's copy later and only that room changes.
Make a template
- Select New template.
- Give it a Template name and, if you like, say What it's for.
- Under Chores in this template, add each chore with its schedule, points, any extra detail, and who it's Expected from.
- Select Add a chore for each extra line.
- Select Save template.
Each template can hold up to 60 chores.
Apply a template to rooms
- On the template's card, select Apply to rooms.
- Tick the rooms that need these chores, or type a new room and select Add room.
- Select Apply to (the button shows how many rooms you picked).
Rooms that already have the template are marked has it and are left alone, so applying again won't make duplicates. Each template card shows how many rooms it's in and which ones.
Start from a houndkit list
Under From houndkit you may see chore lists we keep for a typical clinic. Select Adopt as my template to copy one into your templates. It's then yours to edit and apply. Nothing we change later touches your copy. If you've already adopted a list, the button reads Adopt another copy.
Editing and deleting templates
- Select the pencil on a card to edit a template. Saving a template doesn't change chores already made from it.
- Select the trash icon to delete one. Chores already made from it stay exactly as they are.
- When you open a chore that came from a template in the chore list, a note reminds you that editing it only changes that room's copy.
Tip
Need to change a chore in every room at once? In Chore list, filter or search for it, then use Select and Edit to update them together. See Edit, archive and clean up chores.
