Set up post types

Updated September 30, 2026

Post types are the heart of the Clinic Feed. Each type decides how loud a post is, who's allowed to post it, and whether comments start on. Clinic admins manage them.

Open post types

Go to Clinic Settings, choose Clinic Feed, then the Post types tab. Your clinic starts with six types: Announcement, Protocol update, Case of the week, Education, Just for fun and FYI.

Add or edit a type

  1. Tap Add post type, or tap an existing type to open it.
  2. Enter a Name (up to 40 characters).
  3. Under How loud is it?, pick Quiet, Notify or Must acknowledge (see below).
  4. Under Who can post it, choose Clinic admins, Authorized posters or Everyone.
  5. Turn on Also email to email people who turned on Clinic Feed emails. This isn't available for quiet types.
  6. Turn Comments on on or off. Posters can still change it per post.
  7. Open Icon & color to pick an icon and a color for the type's label.
  8. Tap Add type or Save type.

The three alert levels

  • Quiet: shows in the feed only, no notification. People you @mention are still told.
  • Notify: sends everyone in the audience a notification.
  • Must acknowledge: notifies the audience and asks each person to mark it read and understood. The author and admins see who has.

Reorder types

Drag types into the order you want. The post box and the filter chips follow this order, and the first type you can post is picked by default.

Archive a type

Open a type you no longer need and tap Archive. Nobody can post it, but old posts keep their type. You need to keep at least one type. To bring one back, open Archived types at the bottom and tap Restore.

Tip

Keep most types Quiet and save Notify and Must acknowledge for things people truly need to see. Fewer pings means people pay attention when one arrives.
