Read the Preventives found chart

When a request has PDF records, houndkit reads them and lists the vaccine, prevention and test dates it finds. Use it to update your PIMS faster, then check it against the record.

Where to find it

Open a request that has files. Preventives found sits below Attachments. The first time anyone opens the request, it shows Reading files… for a moment.

Reading the chart

Items are grouped as vaccines, parasite prevention, tests and other (such as dental cleanings and wellness exams). Each row shows:

• Given: the most recent date it was given.
• Due: the next due date. It's red if the date has passed and amber if it's due within 30 days.
• A ? means houndkit guessed which date was given and which was due from where they sat on the page. Double-check those.
• Declined: the record says the owner declined it.
• A small building icon means the record says it was given somewhere else, such as "per owner" or at another clinic.

Click a row to see every mention, with the file name and page. Click the file link to open the PDF at that page.

Below the chart you may see Mentioned, no date found, which lists items the records name without a date.

Copy the dates

Click Copy to put the whole chart on your clipboard as plain lines, ready to paste into a note.

Files it can't read

The chart only reads PDFs that contain real text, plus plain text files. Scans and photos are listed with a note such as scan or photo — no readable text. Very large files (over 30 MB) are skipped.
