What Records is for
Start here · step 19 of 31
Records is where your team asks for medical records and keeps track of them until they're filed. You can request records from another clinic or from the pet owner, see what has come back, and keep a shared contact list of the practices you work with.
What's on the Records page
- Request from a clinic emails another practice a secure upload link.
- Request from a client asks the owner to upload what they have, or to list their previous vets.
- Referral link for rDVMs appears if your clinic also uses On the Way. Copy it and share it with referring vets so they can send patients and records your way.
- Ready to request lists requests that have been saved but not sent yet, including clinics an owner listed through the upload page.
- Just arrived lists files that came in and still need someone to file them. It highlights in amber while anything is waiting.
- All requests is the full table. Use the dropdown to show Everything, Still open or Archived, and the search box to find a patient, owner or clinic.
The Directory button in the toolbar opens your contact list of other practices. A small amber number on it means some practices are missing an email address.
How a request moves
Each request has a status:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | Saved, not sent yet |
| Sent | The request email went out, or the upload link was handed over |
| Reply Received | Files arrived through the upload link |
| Uploaded | Your team has filed the records |
Sent and uploaded requests move to the archive on their own, so the open list stays short. When files arrive on an archived request, it comes back out of the archive as Reply Received.
Records going out
Sending records to another clinic is handled on the task board, under Records to send. See Send records to another clinic.
