Swap a shift with a teammate

If you can't work a shift, you can ask a teammate to take it. Once they accept, a clinic admin confirms the change. This only works if your clinic uses shift swaps (it's on unless an admin switched it off).

A swap hands one of your shifts to a teammate. It doesn't automatically give you one of theirs in return.

Offer your shift

1. Open Schedule and go to My schedule.
2. Find the shift under My upcoming shifts and tap Propose swap.
3. Choose who to ask from Ask a teammate….
4. Add a note if you like.
5. Tap Send proposal.

Your teammate gets a notification. The shift shows swap pending until it's settled. Each shift can only have one active proposal at a time.

Answer a request

When someone asks you to cover, the Swaps tab shows a count.

1. Open the Swaps tab.
2. Under Needs your response, tap Accept or Decline.

If you accept, the shift still needs an admin's approval before it moves to you.

Track your proposals

My proposals on the Swaps tab shows where each one stands:

• waiting on teammate
• waiting on admin

Tap Withdraw to take a proposal back while it's still waiting. Finished swaps move to Recent swaps, marked approved, declined, denied by admin or canceled.

For clinic admins: approve a swap

Swaps waiting on you appear in a Shift swaps card at the top of the Scheduler, with a count of how many need approval.

1. Open the Scheduler.
2. In Shift swaps, check who is handing the shift to whom.
3. Tap Approve swap to move the shift to the teammate, or Deny to leave it where it is.

Both people are notified either way. To see proposals still waiting on a teammate's answer, tap Show … waiting on teammates.
