What Schedule is for

Start here · step 14 of 31
Schedule is where your team sees who works when, asks for time off, and trades shifts. Clinic admins build each week in the Scheduler and publish it when it's ready.
Two sides of the same tool
- Schedule is the page everyone uses. It shows the team's week, your own upcoming shifts, and your time-off requests.
- Scheduler is the admin workspace for building the week. Clinic admins reach it with the Open Scheduler button on the Schedule page. Everyone else sees the read-only view.
What everyone can do
- See the whole team's week on the Team tab, and print it.
- See your own upcoming shifts and hours on My schedule.
- Ask for time off from the Time off tab and follow its status.
- Offer one of your shifts to a teammate from My schedule, if your clinic uses shift swaps.
- Subscribe to your shifts from Google or Apple Calendar, if your clinic has that turned on.
Staff only see weeks an admin has published. Until then, the week stays a draft that only admins can see.
What clinic admins can do
- Build shifts, save one-click shift templates, drag shifts around, and copy last week.
- Publish a week so the team can see it.
- Approve or deny time off and swaps.
- Turn optional features on or off in Clinic Settings.
Start simple, add what you need
With every optional feature off, Schedule is a straightforward weekly scheduler: make shifts, save templates, copy last week, publish. Clinic admins can turn on extras in Clinic Settings → Schedule → Features, such as:
- Shift types with staffing needs (for example, a DVM's Surgery block that needs two assistants)
- Skills, work preferences and auto-fill
- Open shifts that staff can pick up, and a call-out flow
- Hours warnings for overtime and short rest
- Custom time-off questions, too-many-off warnings and blackout dates
- Night-before shift reminders and a Clinic Feed post when a week is published
Throughout these articles, a feature marked "if your clinic has turned on…" only appears once an admin switches it on.
