Help/Taskboard

Add a task

Updated September 30, 2026

Log a task in a few seconds so the right person or team can pick it up. Only the task note is required.

Steps

  1. On the task board, click New Task.
  2. Fill in Patient name and Client name if the task is about a patient.
  3. In Contact info, type a phone number or email, or paste a link (for example, to the patient in your PIMS). A link is saved as a clickable link; anything else is saved as text you can copy.
  4. Pick a Task type. If your admins gave that type a default person or group, Assign to fills in for you.
  5. Check Assign to. Pick a group or a person, or leave it as — Unassigned —.
  6. Change the Start date if the task shouldn't start today.
  7. Write the Task note. This is the only required field.
  8. To add pictures or documents, click Attach photos or files.
  9. Click Submit Task.

The task appears on the board right away. If you assigned it to a person, they get a notification.

Attaching files

You can attach photos (including HEIC from an iPhone), PDFs, Word and Excel files, CSVs and text files. Each file can be up to 25MB.

Your draft is saved

If you close the panel before submitting, what you typed is kept in your browser and comes back the next time you click New Task. Click Clear at the top of the panel to start fresh. Picked files are not kept in the draft.

Note

If your clinic uses Pre-Assignment review, your new task waits in the review queue first. The person you assigned is notified once a reviewer releases it. See Pre-Assignment review.

Note

If your plan has a limit on open tasks and you've reached it, you won't be able to add a new one until some are finished.
