Set up task types and task groups
Clinic admins can give the task board its own colored task types, send each type to the right person or team automatically, and bundle types into groups for filtering.
Open Clinic Settings from your account menu, then choose Tasks.
Add a task type
- Open the Types & groups tab.
- Under Task types, type a name in the new task type box, such as "Refill request".
- To style it, open Icon, colors and default (optional). Pick an Icon, a Background color and a Text color.
- Under Default target, choose Nobody, A person or A group, then pick who. New tasks of this type are assigned there automatically, and staff can still change it.
- If you already have task groups, pick one under Task group.
- Click Add.
To change a type later, click Edit on its row, make your changes and click Save. Click Delete to remove it, then confirm. Drag rows to change the order staff see them in. Edits show a Saved message with an Undo button.
Group task types for filtering
Task groups let staff filter several related types at once. For example, an "RX Requests" group could cover "New RX Request" and "RX Refill Request".
- On the Types & groups tab, find Task groups.
- Type a name in the new group box and click Add.
- Click the group to expand it, then tap the task types that belong in it. Tap one again to take it out.
Use the pencil to rename a group. Deleting a group (the trash button, then confirm) doesn't delete its task types. They just become ungrouped.
Tip
Groups of people (like Techs or Front Desk) that tasks get assigned to are managed in Clinic Settings → Groups, not here.
