Pre-Assignment review

Updated September 30, 2026

Pre-Assignment review lets a review team check every new task before it reaches the open board. Clinic admins turn it on; reviewers release tasks when they look right.

Turn it on

  1. Open Clinic Settings from your account menu, then choose Tasks.
  2. Open the Workflow tab.
  3. Turn on Review new tasks first.
  4. Open the Who reviews menu and tick the people who should hear about each new task.

Both save as you go, with an Undo button on the Saved message.

What changes on the board

  • New tasks go into a Pre-Assignment queue instead of the Open view.
  • The people you picked get a notification for each one.
  • The person a task is assigned to isn't notified yet.
  • Everyone can still see queued tasks by choosing Pre-Assignment in the status dropdown. It only appears while tasks are waiting, with a count.

Release a task

  1. Choose Pre-Assignment in the status dropdown.
  2. Open a task.
  3. Check the assignment and details. Fix anything with Reassign / Change type if needed.
  4. Click Release to board.

The task moves to the open board, the release is logged in its chat, and the assigned person now gets their notification. The Release to board button shows for anyone who opens a queued task, so let your team know who is meant to do the reviewing.

Note

The original assignment and note are kept exactly as logged. Turning the setting off only affects new tasks; anything already queued still needs releasing.
