Edit the surgery sheet
Clinic admins choose which drugs, doses and concentrations are on the Surgery Calculator, and which extra patient questions it asks.
Open the editor
On the Surgery Calculator, tap Edit sheet (only clinic admins see it). Or go to Clinic Settings → Hospital → Discharge & surgery → Surgery sheet. The sheet starts with a standard set of drugs you can change.
Each change saves as soon as you tap Save, move or remove something, and a Saved message confirms it. Changes show the next time anyone opens the calculator. Open the calculator at the top of the editor takes you there.
Add or edit a drug
- Find the section, such as Pre-meds, and tap Add drug. To change an existing drug, tap its pencil.
- Type the Drug name.
- Enter the Dose (mg/kg). Leave it blank for a drug you want written in by hand.
- Enter the Concentration (mg/ml). Leave it blank to show the result in mg instead of ml.
- Tap Save.
If a drug comes in two doses, such as a low and a high end, add it twice with a clear name for each.
The fluid rate line works out its rate from the weight, so it has no dose to set. You can only rename it.
Tap Cancel to close the form without saving.
Reorder or remove drugs
Use the up and down arrows to move a drug within its section. Tap the bin and confirm to remove it from the sheet.
Patient questions
Patient, procedure, date, client, phone, weight and CPR/DNR are always on the sheet. Under Patient questions you add the extra free-text lines underneath, such as Breed, Age and Sex.
- Tap Add question, type the Question label and tap Save. Answers are free text.
- Use the arrows to reorder, the pencil to rename, and the bin to remove (you'll be asked to confirm).
Tip
The sheet always prints on one page and shrinks to fit. A very long drug list will print smaller, so keep it to what your team really uses.
