Help/Training & SOPs

Ask for a review before publishing

Updated September 30, 2026

Before an SOP or Knowledge article goes out, you can ask teammates to read the draft. They comment and suggest edits; you choose what to take.

Ask for a review

  1. Open the draft in the writer and click Review.
  2. Tick one or more reviewers. Use Find a person… to narrow the list.
  3. Add a note under Anything to look at in particular? (optional).
  4. Click Ask for review.

Reviewers get a notification. The panel shows Waiting for review, and you can click Copy the reviewers' link to send it another way.

For reviewers

Your link opens a review page with the draft.

  1. Select any text.
  2. Click Comment to leave a note, or Suggest edit to write different wording under Change it to.
  3. Use A general comment… at the side for anything not tied to a sentence.
  4. When you're done, click Approve or Ask for changes, add an optional note, then click Approve or Send back. The author is notified.

Work through the feedback

Back in the writer, the Review panel lists every comment. Text with open comments is tinted in the editor, and clicking a comment's quote jumps to it.

  • Accept a suggested edit and houndkit swaps the text in the editor for you.
  • Don't take a suggestion you'd rather leave.
  • Resolve a plain comment once it's handled.
  • Reply to any comment to talk it through.

If the text has changed since the suggestion was made, it can't be swapped automatically. Edit it by hand, then resolve the comment.

Finish

Publishing closes the review. You can also click Close review at any time; comments stay in the history.

Tip

Reviewers only see the draft through the review page. It stays hidden from the rest of the team until you publish.
