Use the Knowledge library

Knowledge is your clinic's reference shelf: articles plus quick-lookup lists for terms, drugs, conditions and more. Everyone can browse it; clinic admins keep it up to date.

The lists

Pick a list from the switcher under the tabs. Each has its own search.

• Articles: how-tos, dose cards and cheat sheets your admins wrote.
• Glossary: abbreviations and vet terms, with a short version and a full definition. Some terms link to an article under Read more.
• Conditions: what each condition is, what owners notice, who gets it, How fast it needs to be seen, and What we do here. Filter by Type, Urgency or Species.
• Fast facts: quick questions and answers, some with a picture. Click Hide answers to quiz yourself.
• Tell Tail: the cases behind triage practice.
• Charts: dog and cat dental charts by Triadan number. Tap a tooth to learn about it.
• Root words: prefixes, roots and suffixes. Type a long word into Break a word down to see what it means.
• Pharmacy: what each drug is, the strengths your clinic carries, dose ranges, side effects, Don't use when, what to tell the client, and each doctor's preference. Filter by In clinic, Outside pharmacy or Controlled.

"What is the client seeing?"

At the top of Conditions, type the signs a client describes, pressing Enter after each. houndkit lists conditions with those signs, most matches first. It's a lookup to help decide who to ask and how soon, not a diagnosis. Admins can switch it off.

For admins: fill the lists

Each list has buttons to add entries one at a time, and most have Bulk add for pasting from a spreadsheet. The empty lists also offer houndkit's starter sets, like Add the starter set for conditions. After that, a button offers any starter entries you don't have yet. Every starter entry is yours to edit.

A few things worth knowing:

• Glossary short versions are one line and must not use the word itself. In Fetch, the short version is the clue people answer from.
• Conditions start as Not decided yet for what your hospital does with them. Pick We treat it here, We stabilize, then refer or We refer it out.
• Pharmacy strengths and dose rows feed the dose tool. Doses marked draft · check need a look before anyone relies on them; filter with Doses to check.
• Fast facts with at least two wrong answers can be pick-one test questions. Use Picture cards to add a batch of pictures, like instruments or parasites, in one go.
