Sign off skills and file check-ins
Mentors, managers and anyone with sign-off rights can mark a trainee competent on a skill, put a skill back on their list for a refresher, and file private check-in feedback.
Who can sign off
- Training management and people on the Can sign off skills list can sign off anyone.
- Mentors can sign off their own trainees if your clinic has Mentors can sign off their own trainees turned on.
- Nobody can ever sign off their own skills.
Sign someone off
- Open the trainee from Training → Trainees, or open the skill from the Skills tab.
- On a trainee's plan, click Sign off on the skill's row. On a skill, choose the person under Sign someone off.
- Add Comments if you like: what you observed, anything to keep practicing.
- Click Confirm sign-off (or Confirm for [name] on the skill).
If a test covers the skill, the person's result shows next to it so you can see it first. To take a sign-off back, click Undo.
Ask for a refresher
If someone needs to brush up on a skill they already finished:
- Click Needs refresher on their signed-off row.
- Add what to brush up on (optional). They'll see this.
- Click Put back on their list.
The skill counts as not done until they're signed off again. Click Withdraw refresher to cancel it; their earlier sign-off counts again.
File a check-in
Check-ins are scheduled when training starts. Mentors fill them in, and the trainee never sees the answers.
- Open the trainee and go to the Check-ins tab.
- Click the check-in. Rows marked Feedback due are late.
- Answer the questions on the Feedback tab.
- Click Send to management.
Managers can read every report, click Edit feedback to change one, and use Schedule a check-in to add another. On the Schedule tab they can change the date, mentor or form, Skip a check-in, or Delete it.
Note
Clinic admins edit the check-in questions in Clinic Settings → Training & SOPs → Programs → Check-in forms.
