Your clinic profile, hours and auto-lock

Updated September 30, 2026

Your clinic profile holds your clinic's name, logo and contact details, the time zone and working days houndkit runs on, and how quickly shared computers lock. Only clinic admins can change it.

Go to Clinic Settings → Clinic profile. It has two sub-tabs: Details and Hours & auto-lock. Changes save as you go: text fields save when you click away or press Enter, and a Saved message pops up with Undo.

Details

  • Logo: tap Upload (or Change). PNG, JPG and SVG all work. Your logo shows in the header, on client-facing portals and in emails. It also appears on the lock screen and faintly in the corner of each page.
  • Clinic name
  • Email, Phone and Address
  • Website: when set, the clinic logo links here in portals and emails.
  • Web address: your clinic's houndkit address. Only houndkit support can change this.

Hours & auto-lock

  • Timezone: sets when the day rolls over for chores and daily schedules. A day ends at 11:59 PM in this time zone. Pick from the US time zones listed.
  • Working days: tick the days your clinic is open. Chores don't come due on closed days, so untick Sunday if you're closed Sundays. At least one day must be ticked.

Auto-lock

Lock after is how long a computer can sit idle before houndkit locks and asks for a PIN. Choose from 1 minute up to 1 hour, or Never (not recommended). New clinics start at 2 minutes.

This applies to everyone at your clinic. People who haven't set a PIN are signed out when houndkit locks, so encourage your team to set one. See Locking and your PIN.

Tip

On shared treatment-room computers, a short timeout (1 or 2 minutes) keeps people from charting under someone else's name. If your clinic is mostly one-person workstations, a longer timeout is fine.

The Overview page reminds you if your logo, phone, address or email is missing.
