Choose your notifications

Everything that happens for you in houndkit lands in the bell. You choose which of those also email you or buzz your phone, and when your phone should stay quiet.
Open your avatar menu, choose User Settings, then the Notifications tab. You can also tap the gear in the bell. Changes save the moment you flip a switch.
What reaches you
The table lists each topic with an Email switch and a Phone switch:
| Topic | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Hospital | A hospitalized patient's treatment goes overdue |
| Labs | Results are ready for you to review |
| Tasks | Tasks assigned to you, records to send if your group works that list, team forms sent to your group and answers to yours |
| Mentions and replies | Someone @mentions or replies to you |
| Schedule | Published schedules, shift reminders, swaps, open shifts and time off |
| Chores and equipment | Chores still open before close, the end-of-day summary, equipment maintenance due |
| Follow Ups | The daily count of follow-ups due, and team reminders handed to you |
| Records and clients | Record files received, Client Connect requests and replies, On The Way forms |
| QA (if your clinic shares QA results with you) | Notes, to-dos, second checks and appeal decisions on your case reviews |
| Training | Sign-offs, tests to grade, mentor notes, SOP reviews |
| Clinic Feed | New feed posts, and important ones to acknowledge |
| Kudos and Tug | Kudos you receive and new Tug polls |
| Your support tickets | houndkit replies to, resolves or ships a fix for a ticket you filed |
| Everything else | Anything else that lands in your bell |
A dash means that topic doesn't send email, or doesn't have its own phone switch. Support ticket alerts reach your phone along with Tasks.
In the Quick set row at the bottom, tap All or None under a column to flip every switch in it at once.
What's on to start
- Email is off for everything except Your support tickets, so you won't get email unless you ask for it.
- Phone is on for most topics. Clinic Feed and Kudos and Tug start off.
- Only while I'm on shift starts on if your clinic uses Schedule. Quiet hours start off.
- Phone switches only matter once you've paired a device. See Get alerts on your phone.
Quiet times
These only affect your phone. Alerts still collect in your bell.
- Only while I'm on shift (if your clinic uses Schedule): your phone stays quiet on days off and outside your shifts, with 30 minutes' grace either side. Weeks without a published schedule always alert.
- Quiet hours: a nightly window with no buzzing. Turn it on, then set From and to. It starts at 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, in your clinic's time zone.
- Let overdue Hospital alerts through: with quiet hours on, an overdue patient treatment still buzzes. Turn it off if you want total quiet.
Tip
Getting too many buzzes? Start with None in the Phone column, then switch on just the two or three topics you really need on the go.
