Locking and your PIN

houndkit locks itself when a computer sits idle, so the next person at a shared workstation can't act as you. A 4-digit PIN gets you back in within seconds, and lets teammates switch to themselves without a full login.

When houndkit locks

• After a few idle minutes. Your clinic admin sets how long (two minutes unless they change it). Some clinics turn idle locking off.
• When you tap the padlock in the header (Lock screen). Do this before you walk away.

When it locks, every houndkit tab in that browser locks together, and refreshing the page doesn't get around it.

Unlock with your PIN

The lock screen says "Session locked due to inactivity" and asks you to Enter your 4-digit PIN. Type the four digits. There's no button to press; it checks as soon as the fourth digit goes in. A wrong PIN shows Incorrect PIN and clears the boxes so you can try again.

Switch to yourself on a shared computer

If someone else left houndkit open and locked, you don't need to sign them out first.

1. On the lock screen, tap the name at the top to open the list of your clinic's team.
2. Pick your name. People who haven't set a PIN show no PIN next to their name.
3. Enter your own PIN. houndkit signs the other person out and signs you in.

Sign in with a different account

Tap Switch Account at the bottom of the lock screen. This signs out whoever was signed in and takes you to the sign-in page, where you can use your email and password.

Tips

• Lock the screen with the padlock before you step away, even if idle locking is on.
• Forgot your PIN? Use Switch Account and sign in with your password, then set a new PIN in User Settings. A clinic admin can also clear your PIN so you can set a fresh one.
• Locking doesn't stop phone alerts. Your paired phone keeps buzzing for new notifications.
